OK, so now the H1N1 reached up to 629!!!! and i got nth to write anymore... lol. all so boring... So anyway, today, when i had to take my temp, u noe the trigger point is 37.8 right? So lyk it was right aft recess and we were waiting for our sci teacher at the sci playground. So we started playing.

After he came, he immediately told us to take out temp and abviously, i was sooo hot la... den my temp went all the way up to 37.9... lol. Sherlyn as well and Ryan Tham was 37.7. Which is lyk considered... So we went up to the general office den the gal asked us to take our temp agn... this time, i got 38 den i said YES! comfirm fever liao. lol. Den ryan them, kept getting 37.1-5 He had to take it 7 times den he finally got 37.8... lol.

Den sherlyn oso the same... but she ran around and around... and her temp went all the way up to 37.9. lol. So we all don needa go bck to class... So ryan tham went to ACTUALLY tell Mr. Ng tt he took his temp 7 times, Mr. Ng was lyk abt to scold him sia... lol, but den i was lyk saying... He wanted to make sure tt u noe, he didn't have a fever. Den Mr. Ng was lyk ok.

So we got sent to this place, inside is all air-con and got many bottles of NeWater and the person asked us to drink... So we drank den had to go pee, we jus sit down thr, do nth for one hour and can skip lessons. lol. So aft tt, we took our temp agn and this time, we got 36.6. Well, the WE refers to me and tham, same temp ma... and sherlyn... 35.6 or something... SO COLD... haha. ok. I guess i'm done posting... haha.

The no. of H1N1 cases in singapore has now reached 599!!! with a shocking 145 new cases comfirmed yesterday. The highest no. in singapore. And thr is still another pending 77 cases to be comfirmed. It's just incredible... lol.

Anyway, 2 schools have decided to shut down for one week aft their teachers were tested positive of H1N1. But so sad, they're sec schls... and the will be doing home-based learning. The 2 sec schools are: Presbyterian High School in Ang Mo Kio and Westwood Sec School in Jurong West.

Thr are also two more schls whose teachers were tested positive of H1N1 but they didn't shut the schl down as tt teacher oni came in contact with a few teachers and those teachers were asked to stay home until this thursday. The schl is Hai Sing Catholic School.

OK, three new clusters of the spread were also reported yesterday, they are:
1) Clementi army camp
2) Police coast guard base in Brani
3) An unspecified social party

Q: What are the symptoms of H1N1?
A: They are pretty much the same as normal flu but not every1 shows all the symptoms. They include a fever, sore throat. cough, runny nose, muscle ache, headache, fatigue and lack of appetite.

Q: I have recovered from H1N1, can i catch it again?
A: Once you have been infected, you gain life-long immunity, but only if the virus does not change. If the virus mutates, you might still have acquired some immunity, so if you catch it again, your illness might not be as severe.

Ok, so now the H1N1 has reached 315 in singapore. Which is terrible. Oh and the most no. of local cases are in the Newly Opened Butter Factory nightclub in One Fullerton... They have got 10 new cases... Maju Camp(the place near our school) has got 2 new cases!!! DIE liao lars...

And this sickness, oni attacks the young... Aged below 20 and the youngest was a 14 month old child. XIAO RIGHT?! Anyway, i shall give you the symptoms for the H1N1 in children and adults(the symptoms are diff) ok, for the adults, will be the first 50 ppl and children is the first 70.

ADULTS!
• Fever(above 37.5)- Might have(76%)
• Headache- Rare(24%)
• Running nose- Might have(50%)
• Sore throat- Might have(48%)
• Cough- High chance(80%)
• Body aches- Rare(18%)
• Lack of appetite, nausea, vomiting- Rare(8%)
• Diarrhoea- Rare(2%)

CHILDREN!
• Fever- Will have(100%)
• Headache- No signs(0%)
• Running nose- Might have(89%)
• Sore throat- Might have(89%)
• Cough- Might have(89%)
• Body aches- No signs(0%)
• Lack of appetite, nausea, vomiting- Rare(6%)
• Diarrhoea- No signs(0%)

So you see, These signs all very mild... and you can mistaken it for seasonal flu when it's actually H1N1, tts y i'm sooo kanzhong!!! I mean, i got running nose, Cough and a lil sore throat... tts lyk 3 signs!!! and oso a lil body ache liao... which is lyk... although they said no signs, thr is still a possibility you might get it... So WTF!!!!

So NATALIE, I am NOT, i repeat, NOT over-reacting. This is serious!!! OMG!!! but no la... i don't think i got rhe H1N1, i mean i've nvr been to any of the places tts got the locally transmitted disease... Oh wait! My mum went to Tai Wan!!! but she had the injection before she went and wen she came bck... oh no!!! but tt was so long ago... and i jus started getting sick... lyk a few days ago...

Nah, i don't have the H1N1... lol. Ok, bye!!! ^^

AHH!!! The H1N1 has now reached 220!!! and, the symptoms to detecting it are vry hard... as 1 outta 5 patients will not be detected as th symptoms are vry mild and is easily mistaken for seasonal flu!

The CDC team had found out tt oni half the patients had high fever: 37.8+ and the rest may be mild or NO fever. Cough was also the most common case affecting four in five patients but only half had sorethroats... These are such general symptoms tt it would be a challenge to general practitioners(GPs) to identify ppl as H1N1 patients.

Unlike the USA, whr many had diarrhoea, oni 1 of the first 50 patients had suffered from it in singapore. For most of the patients still warded at CDC, abt 70 are doing well and most are no longer sick. But for most, the fever wld have receded a day aft taking the TamiFlu but they are still in hospital as their nose and throat swabs say tt they still have the H1N1 virus in them.

The problem is tt doctors do not know whether the virus is live or dead so they are uncertain if the person is still infectious. Most patients are discharged aft 5 days but a handful may need to be warded for almost 2 weeks. When community spread comes, those patients who are H1N1 positive will be treated as outpatients.

Their main focus is on ppl in the high-risk group such as ppl with kidney failure and cancer and suffering from H1N1. So far, the illness appears fairly mild in most patients, who are generally young and healthy ppl. Singapore only has 3 patients with medical problems-2 with asthma and one with Hodgskins lymphoma. All are fine.

The Dr also warned tt those with WEAKENED systems could develop a bacterial infection of the lungs or even blood poisoning. They will need specialist hospital care. And her advice to ppl is to wear a mask when u're in crowded places- It is not a shameful thing.

UPDATES!!!!!!

From Monday, schls will:
• Check temp twice a day.
• Suspend assemblies, stagger recess times and scale down CCAs.
• Hold classes on hygiene and H1N1.
• Screen visitors for fever.
• Alert parents to take home students who have fever but not been to affected areas.
• Send students who have fever and have been to affected areas to hospital.

THOSE WITH HIGH RISK:
• Diabetics
• Obese
• Elderly
• Pregnant Women
• Asthmatics
• Ppl with chronic lung, heart, liver or renal diseases
• Ppl undergoing radio- or chemo-therapy
• Ppl taking steroids

Singapore has got 194 cases liao... AND!!!! THE HEALTH MINISTER ,MR NG, SAYS TT, IF A PUPIL FALLS ILL, THE WHOLE CLASS WILL BE SENT HOME AND IF IT CONTINUES, A WHOLE LEVEL MAYBE SHUT DOWN OR EVEN THE SCHOOL!!!

Also, Pls brace yourselves for oncoming shuttin and re opening of schls as community infections spread. And tt students returning from affected areas such as AUSTRALIA, CANADA, HONG KONG, INDONESIA, JAPAN, PHILIPHINES, THAILAND, BRITAIN AND THE UNITED STATES have to stay home for 7 days before returning bckt o schl.

ok... so the measures tt WILL kick in... lol. I'm jus gonna type out everything the newspaper says. xP
1) MOE will issue leave of absence to all staff and students who have returned from affected countries on or aft 22 June. Screening will be done at schl gates before staff and students are allowed to enter the schl. Temp taking twice a day. Schl assembly suspended, CCAs scaled down and recess will be staggered(which means split) during the first week.

2) Aft the first week, things WILL NOT return bck to normal. Schls will step up vigilance measures to detect those with fever and flu symptoms; they shall be isolated. As community infections spread, the schl MAY HAVE TO CLOSE CLASSROOMS, LEVELS OR EVEN A SCHL.

3) Home based learning and make-up lessons will be conducted for those who are sick.

4) The main part is social distancing. If you are unwell, stay at home and from other ppl.

5) Students will be taught proper handwashing techniques and sneeze and cough etiquette.

6) If each of us exercise social reponsibility, life CAN go on as per normal.

Even if some of the students tt returned bck to singapore stay home for one week, tt doesn't garantee tt some other students MAY have gotten the disease thru local spread... and will pass it on to someone else...

Anyway, thr has been a few places which are known for local spread... these places are:
1) Riverlife church in loyang
2) National university of singapore
3) The newly opened butter factory club in One fullerton

So if you happened to have gone to those places, PLEASE BE CAREFUL OF YOUR HEALTH... see a doctor immediately if symptoms occur... don come to schl if u're sick... lol. tt reminds me, i oso getting a bit sick... running down with a lil flu... (eek!)

And oso, if within the nxt few days, more locally transmitted H1N1 disease occur, den community spread in singapore shall begin!!! OMG!!!! now got a total of 142 new cases in singapore.... highly dangerous as singapore's population isn't say a lot... so be careful sia...

and oso another prob... one outta every 3 ppl diagnosed with H1N1 have NO symptoms and if they so happen to be someone in a schl and didn't go overseas and got the virus locally, and went bck to schl, den the person will still be spreading the virus to other ppl without actually knowing it... So now my short-sightedness degree is oni 50 degrees, which is still vry lil la... can correct.. and i will correct... i must get rid of my short-sightedness. i jus have to ask my dad to hurry up fix my room light... and don read so detailed books... lol.

I just hope tt my astigmatism, wen i grow up nxt time, can correct it lar... lazic... or wat eva it's called... lol. FUTURE TECHNOLOGY! lol. if not den maybe jus lower my astigmatism la... at least still better... lol. ahh! i'm vry sad... Y must i be born with astigmatism lar.... damn stupid lor. haiz... nvm... right now, i jus wanna get rid of my short-sightedness... but th stupid thing is... i oni got short-sightedness on my left eye. not right eye. ==

LOL! he kept saying lyk wen is this ride gonna stop! How come so long haven stop!!! Den me and my JC couz was comforting him while my cousin XinMei, was down thr screaming... lol.

I think the other ppl at the opp side of the boat... they kept staring at us lyk wth?! oni in the center and tt guy can cry liao... even tt lil girl behind him not even crying... xiao... and den, tt sec schl gal... i thought they don scream? and how come tt gal younger den her lyk no reaction lyk tt?!
